Replace swaps out the original sound and uses only your track. Mix keeps the original audio and lays your track over it, so both play together. Replace is the default; pick Mix when you want to add to the existing sound rather than replace it.

Yes. Choose Mix, and your track plays over the original audio instead of replacing it, which is what you want for background music under speech or existing sound. If the clip has no sound to begin with, Mix adds your track.

The audio is fit to the length of the video. A longer track is trimmed to where the video ends, and a shorter track is looped to fill the clip, so the sound runs the whole way through. This is on by default, so the audio matches the video automatically.

You choose. The tool can save the result as WebM or MP4, with WebM selected by default. When the format allows, the picture is copied across without re-encoding, so only the audio is rebuilt and the video stays as it was.
